About Hanauma Bay

The curved bay on the Hawaiian Island of Oahu is a treasure trove of marine life with more than 450 species of fish, coral, sea turtle and other aquatic creatures making it a favored location for snorkeling, scuba diving and swimming. Hanauma Bay became so crowded that the State of Hawaii began limiting the number of tourists that could visit in the 1990s to protect its natural resources. It's a Marine Life Conservation District and a Nature Preserve.
