About Guadalajara Cathedral

Originally built in 1541, the Guadalajara Cathedral was damaged by fire in 1574 and was not fully reconstructed until 1618 by architect Martin Castillas. Featuring a mixture of architectural styles, the structure mostly utilizes a Baroque exterior and Gothic interior. The Cathedral currently houses of the remains of St. Innocent as well as various cardinals and bishops.
