About Greenwich

The English town is recognized as where Greenwich Mean Time is set and the location of the Greenwich Meridian. If that weren't enough, it also is the birthplace of the Tudors Henry VIII, Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth I and was officially named a Royal Borough by Queen Elizabeth II during her Royal Jubilee in 2012 because of Greenwich's ties to the Royal Family. Popular sites are Royal Observatory Greenwich, National Maritime Museum, Old Royal Navy College, The Palladian Queen's House, Greenwich Heritage Centre, St. Alfege Church, Discover Greenwich Visitor Centre, Greenwich Park, Thames Barrier, Firepower: The Royal Artillery Museum, Well Hall Pleasaunce and the Tudor Barn, Eltham Palace and The Fan Museum. Relics have been found in and near Greenwich dating it back to pre-historic times. It's also a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Site.
