About Floral Clock

One of the most known attractions in the Niagara Parks Commission is the their large Floral Clock. The Niagara Parks Commission is a government agency that maintains the Ontario shoreline of the Niagara River. The famous Floral Clock is a large decorative clock face that is made up of a carpet bedding that has a mechanism underneath which operates the clock. The Floral Clock was made with up to 16,000 carpet bedding plants and was constructed in 1950 by Ontario Hydro, who also operates the clock's mechanism. The floral design is changed twice a year and there is a tower behind the Floral Clock that chimes every hour.
