It housed Confederate Army sharpshooters during the American Civil War, contains more than 100 bullet holes and was the site of the accidental shooting of 20-year-old civilian Mary Virginia "Jennie" Wade. Farnsworth House is named after Union Army General Elon Farnsworth, who died with 65 other men leading a failed charged during the Battle of Gettysburg. The destination on the National Register of Historic Places offers elegant period rooms, a Pennsylvania Dutch menu served by costumed waitstaff and many ghost stories.
