Sitting on the banks of the Lagarfljot river, Egilsstadir is a small town in eastern Iceland. Utilized by many travelers, the town is a major transport hub for exploring the region, from the Hallormsstadaskogur National Forest, the largest in Iceland, to the Lagarflot lake, which is home to the mythic Lagarfljotsormur serpent.
