The highlight of Dinosaur State Park is the preserved Mesozoic floodplain covered with tracks made by dinosaurs 200 million years ago. Also inside the 55,000 square foot geodesic dome are dioramas of Triassic and Jurassic environments, fossil collections and interactive exhibits featuring minerals and fossils from the Connecticut Valley. Just outside in the Arboretum, there are over two miles of nature trails through Mesozoic era vegetation: more than 250 species and cultivars of conifers, plus collections of arborvitae, chamaecyparis, ginkgo, juniper, katsura, pine, sequoia and magnolia.
