Also called Lillian Coit Memorial Tower, the 210-foot Art Deco structure was built in 1933 as part of a bequest by the socialite Coit to enrich San Francisco. The Telegraph Hill tower that was designed by Arthur Brown and Henry Howard contains murals created by 27 artists as a Public Works of Art project. The concrete tower's observation deck offers a striking 360-degree view of San Francisco, Golden Gate Bridge and the city's other landmarks.
