About Chilmark

This Martha's Vineyard town is a favorite vacation destination of United States President Barack Obama and its Menemsha fishing village was a filming locale for the 1975 Steven Spielberg hit movie "Jaws." Chilmark was settled with Tisbury in 1660 and later incorporated in 1694 taking the same name as a town in Wiltshire, England. Popular attractions are The Yard, Menemsha Hills, Native Earth Teaching Farm, Fulling Mill Brook Reserve and Menemsha Public Beach.
