About Casablanca

Morocco's economic and cultural capital, this massive port city is one of the most important in all of Africa. Founded in the 10th century BC, today it is a seat of modern architecture, and styles as varied as Art Deco, Neo-Mauresque, and Cubist facades can be seen here. Well worth the visit is the Hassan II Mosque, the largest in North Africa and featuring the world's tallest minaret. Casablanca's medina, or old town, has plenty of opportunities for shoppers looking for a bargain, or for a more modern shopping experience, visit the Morocco Mall, the largest in Africa.
