This large public square, transportation hub and popular gathering spot is adjacent to the Berlin TV Tower, the tallest structure in Germany. Alexanderplatz, known simply as “Alex” to Berliners, is home to some notable sights including the Brunnen der Völkerfreundschaft (Fountain of Friendship amongst Peoples) and the landmark Urania World Clock, which tells the time in cities around the world.
