Tours4Fun Cuts Tour Prices By Implementing Groupon Like Deals
7 February, 2011
Los Angeles based online tour provider, Tours4Fun, has implemented a new internet marketing strategy akin to sites like Groupon and Living Social by featuring time-sensitive group sales on their site. With this new deal in effect, Tours4Fun customers can receive a large discounted percentage on particular tours if they book within the given sale time period, usually lasting around three days.
Unlike Living Social and Groupon, Tours4Fun’s Featured Group Deal is a tiered system, allowing customers to gain not only one special price, but potentially three. Depending on the tour featured, there are three markdown prices based on the number of people that book the tour. Essentially, the more people that book, the cheaper and cheaper the tour gets.
“With our new Featured Group Deals, we hope to showcase our variety of shorter and unique tours to our clients. It’s really a win-win situation; we get more bookings, and our customers get some great sightseeing tours for a steal,” according to Benson Cheng, Product Development Manager at Tours4Fun.
The interface on the Tours4Fun website shows a countdown clock informing viewers when the deal is live and a share option allows them to tell their friends and increase their odds at getting that much closer to the next deal.
