【Lima + Cusco】8-Day Peru Gastronomic Tour from Lima: Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu

Upon arrival our staff will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. They will be given a Kit of documents, they will be offered the explanation of the detailed itinerary and will receive assistance for their luggage and for the registration in the hotel. Welcome with Pisco Sour typical Peruvian drink (Only in hotels of 4 * and 5 stars) Rest of the day free for independent activities. Overnight  in Lima.
   

Breakfast. In the morning, We will start our tour through the modern residential districts of Miraflores and San Isidro. We will visit the Financial Center, Golf, Olivar, Huaca Pucllana, a pre-Inca ceremonial temple in the form of a pyramid that has survived the urban expansion of Lima. We will stop at Amor Park located on the Malecon of Miraflores, from where we will observe the Pacific Ocean. Continuing our tour, we will go to the Historic Center of Lima, Where you will appreciate more than fifty monuments and colonial buildings, standing out the Paseo de la Republica.  We will visit Plaza San Martín, its balconies and old mansions, the Plaza Mayor and its most important buildings such as the Government Palace, the Cathedral of Lima, the Archbishop's Palace and Municipal, the Desamparados Station. Convent and Catacombs of San Francisco We will enter one of the most important convents of the XVII century. We will visit the old Library, the Choir, the Main Cloister and the underground crypts known as Catacombs. Finishing our tour, you will have the option of staying in the Indian market in Larcomar. Return to the hotel.

 



In the evening, we will have a delicious dinner at the well-known Malabar restaurant whose cuisine is related to the products of the different regions and aims to communicate the biodiversity of Peru. Overnight  in Lima.

 



Optional: Excursion to the Magic Water Circuit (Wednesday to Sunday)

In the evening, visit the impressive Circuit Magico de las Aguas, located in the center of the city of Lima. This park, inaugurated in 1929 and resumed in 2007, consists of thirteen illuminated water fountains, which makes it the largest set of fountains in the world, which is why it is inscribed in the book of Record Guiness. The main source is the "Magic Fountain" which starts running a stream of water 80 meters high. Return to the hotel.

  

Breakfast. In the morning we will make a Gastronomic Tour where we will enjoy pleasant moments in the company of Ceviche and Pisco Sour, typical products of Peruvian cuisine that seduce the most demanding palates in the world. Participate in this interesting and varied tour that includes from the selection of ingredients to the tasting, going through the detailed explanations and private lessons taught by well-known Chefs and Bartenders and logically including an assortment and delicious lunch in the exclusive restaurant at the end of the tour return to the hotel.
In the evening, we will transfer to the Huaca Pucllana Restaurant where we will enjoy our dinner and we will have an exclusive view of the Pyramid of Huaca Pucllana. Overnight in Lima.

(* Please note that regarding the flight from Lima to Cusco, you need to arrive in Cusco before 10:30am so that you can acclimatize to the altitude and have lunch and then in the afternoon do the complete city tour that begins around 12:00pm. Tickets are at your own expense)

In the afternoon, (Aprox 12:00) Visit of the imperial city of Cusco.

We will go to the Plaza de Armas of Cusco, Awqaypata or plaza of the warrior was called in time of the Incas. We enter the Cathedral, which treasures invaluable colonial works and paintings, like the Cross that arrived with the first conquerors. We will continue to the Korikancha, Temple to the god Inti, the Sun, on which the Church of Santo Domingo was built, the chronicles tell that this temple was covered with gold in Inca times. Then we will ascend the archaeological park of Sacsayhuaman, and visit Q'enqo, ancient temple of Puma and where you can see an altar for sacrifices in the inner part of a huge rock; Tambomachay, sacred sources of life and health; Puca Pucará, watchman who took care of entering the city; And the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, beautiful place that radiates peace and tranquility, we will admire the enormous rocks of up to 4 meters of height, that were used in its construction. Returno to Cusco. Overnight in Cusco.

 

 

Breakfast. In the morning we will do our gastronomic cusco tour around the city. We start the tour in the traditional market of San Pedro, where we will visit the facilities of the market in a "friendly route" and we will be able to know and taste the typical gastronomy of Cusco. Then we will go to the Restaurant where our cooking class ready to prepare our representative dishes, which will be made with the products selected in the tour by the market. At the end of our cooking class, we will go to the restaurant halls to taste the dishes prepared by you and the chef.

In the evening we will enjoy our dinner in the Limo restaurant, a must for lovers of Peruvian haute cuisine and environments that combine tradition and contemporary design with other exciting experiences. Return to the hotel. Overnight  in Cusco.
 

Breakfast. Tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas taking the road to Pisac. We will make a stop along the way to enjoy a classic view of the meandering Urubamba River through the different carpet of the fields. We arrive at the colorful market of Pisac, where we will have free time to interact with the villagers and artisans, and make purchases of beautiful crafts and souvenirs. We will continue our trip and arrive at Hacienda Huayoccari to enjoy a buffet lunch. Then we will visit Ollantaytambo, attractive town of Inca origin with remarkable canals and cobbled streets. At the height, the rise of an impressive ceremonial center of water worship and a fortress that protected access to the bottom of the valley. Transfer to the hotel in the Sacred Valley.

In the evening dinner at the famous Wayra Restaurant offers a high quality local cuisine. Return to the hotel.  Overnight  in Sacred Valley.
 

Breakfast. Transfer to Ollantaytambo train station. Departure to the village of Machu Picchu, located at the base of the mountain where the Sacred Citadel of the Incas "Machu Picchu" is located. Upon arrival in Machu Picchu Pueblo, our collaborators will assist you to board the ecological bus that will take you to the sacred citadel. On the route you can see a spectacular view of the canyon that forms the Urubamba River. We will enter the citadel and we will enter by its terraces, stairs, ceremonial precincts and places of dwelling. Then after the guided tour, you will have free time to explore the place on your own, relax or meditate. At the appropriate time, we will have our Buffet Lunch. Afterwards we will descend to the town of Machu Picchu to board our train back to Poroy. Upon arrival our staff will wait for you at the station, from where we will transfer you to your hotel. Farewell dinner at the renowned Cicciolina restaurant, which seeks to create sensations from the front door as they have created a cozy atmosphere, where you will spend a pleasant time, with first class service and surprising flavors. Return to the hotel Overnight in Cusco.
 

 

Breakfast. In time, transfer to the airport to board your flight to Lima with international connection.
