【Lima + Cusco + Puno】8-Day Peru Tour from Lima:  Machu Picchu and Nazca

Optional: Dinner Show with "Peruvian Fiesta" at La Dama Juana
In the evening transfer to the famous restaurant "La Dama Juana" for a wonderful gastronomic experience where we will taste the best dishes of the Peruvian cuisine accompanied by the best show of music and typical dances of Peru. Return to the hotel.
 

Breakfast. In the morning, We will start our tour through the modern residential districts of Miraflores and San Isidro. We will visit the Financial Center, Golf, Olivar, Huaca Pucllana, a pre-Inca ceremonial temple in the form of a pyramid that has survived the urban expansion of Lima. We will stop at Amor Park located on the Malecon of Miraflores, from where we will observe the Pacific Ocean. Continuing our tour, we will go to the Historic Center of Lima, Where you will appreciate more than fifty monuments and colonial buildings, standing out the Paseo de la Republica.  We will visit Plaza San Martín, its balconies and old mansions, the Plaza Mayor and its most important buildings such as the Government Palace, the Cathedral of Lima, the Archbishop's Palace and Municipal, the Desamparados Station. Convent and Catacombs of San Francisco We will enter one of the most important convents of the XVII century. We will visit the old Library, the Choir, the Main Cloister and the underground crypts known as Catacombs. Finishing our tour, you will have the option of staying in the Indian market in Larcomar. Return to the hotel.

 



Optional: Excursion to the Magic Water Circuit (Tuesday to Sunday)

In the evening, visit the impressive Circuit Magico de las Aguas, located in the center of the city of Lima. This park, inaugurated in 1929 and resumed in 2007, consists of thirteen illuminated water fountains, making it the largest set of fountains in the world, which is why it is inscribed in the book of Record Guiness. The main source is the "Magic Fountain" which starts running a stream of water 80 meters high. Return to the hotel.

  

Breakfast. In the morning, transfer to the aerodrome to board our twin-engine airplane and fly over the mysterious Nazca Lines, huge tracks in the desert, which can only be appreciated from the air, and represent figures such as the monkey, hummingbird, The whale, astronaut among others. It remains a mystery how they were made and only if they knew that they were a great astronomical calendar representing the constellations. We will have a brief explanation by the pilot of the aircraft.
Local lunch after the tour (lunch could be before the tour according to flight schudules). In time, transfer to the station to board the bus to Lima. Upon arrival reception and transfer to Chinese dinner. Transfer to hotel after dinner.  Overnight  in Lima.

(* Please note that regarding the flight from Lima to Cusco, you need to arrive in Cusco before 10:30am so that you can acclimatize to the altitude and have lunch and then in the afternoon do the complete city tour that begins around 12:00pm. Tickets are at your own expense)

In the afternoon, (Aprox 12:00) Visit of the imperial city of Cusco.

We will go to the Plaza de Armas of Cusco, Awqaypata or plaza of the warrior was called in time of the Incas. We enter the Cathedral, which treasures invaluable colonial works and paintings, like the Cross that arrived with the first conquerors. We will continue to the Korikancha, Temple to the god Inti, the Sun, on which the Church of Santo Domingo was built, the chronicles tell that this temple was covered with gold in Inca times. Then we will ascend the archaeological park of Sacsayhuaman, and visit Q'enqo, ancient temple of Puma and where you can see an altar for sacrifices in the inner part of a huge rock; Tambomachay, sacred sources of life and health; Puca Pucará, watchman who took care of entering the city; And the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, beautiful place that radiates peace and tranquility, we will admire the enormous rocks of up to 4 meters of height, that were used in its construction. Returno to Cusco. Overnight in Cusco.

 

 

Breakfast. Transfer to Ollantaytambo train station. Departure towards the village of Machu Picchu, located at the base of the mountain where the Sacred Citadel of the Incas "Machu Picchu" is located. Upon arrival in Machu Picchu Pueblo, our collaborators will assist you to board the ecological bus that will take you to the sacred citadel. On the route, you can see a spectacular view of the canyon that forms the Urubamba River. We will enter the citadel and we will enter by its terraces, stairs, ceremonial precincts and places of dwelling. Then after the guided tour, you will have free time to explore the place on your own, relax or meditate. At the appropriate time, we will descend to the town of Machu Picchu for lunch. (Buffet lunch).

In the afternoon take the train to go back to train, station and then transfer back to Cusco. Dinner in local restaurant and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Cusco.
 

Breakfast. Transfer to the bus station. Departure by regular tourist bus to the Puno city. On the way, we will visit the chapel of Andahuaylillas and one of the main temples to the god Wiracocha in Racchi, where you can appreciate the remains of the enormous columns that supported the ceiling and to be able to cross its different enclosures. Like so many archaeological vestiges of Cusco this temple is little visited. This excursion will provide a real Andean experience to appreciate the Andean highlands, making stops at your discretion to take pictures. Lunch en route. Before arriving in Puno, we will visit the Site Museum of the ruins of Pucará.  Arrival in Puno and transfer to hotel. Dinner. Overnight in Puno.
 

 

Breakfast. In the morning, we will make a short trip through the Sacred Lake of the Incas "Titicaca" to visit the Uros Floating Islands, an ancient pre-Inca population that took refuge in the waters of this lake, fleeing the colonizing empires. We will appreciate the construction of the rafts of reeds, reeds of the lake. Then we have lunch.
 

In the afternoon we will visit Sillustani, an archaeological site located 34 km north of Puno. They include the famous chullpas, circular funerary towers, built with stone. They reach 12 meters high and were used by both the collas and the Incas. On foot from the site is Lake Umayo, a factor that enhances the scenic beauty from mystical and beautiful place. Return to the hotel. Dinner. Overnight  in Puno.
 

Breakfast. At time, transfer to the airport of Juliaca to board your flight with departure to Lima with international connection.
