Skye and the Fairy Pools Day Tour from Inverness: An Island Adventure

Wave goodbye to Inverness and begin your day with a bit of monster spotting as you drive along the shores of Loch Ness. We will stop for a quick photo-stop at Urquhart Castle, an impressive ruin on the banks of Loch Ness.

We will continue to Dornie, a small village which offers stunning views of one of Scotland's most picturesque castles, Eilean Donan. It is perched on its own island at the head of Loch Duich.

We'll continue west and you'll cross onto the little island of Eilean Ban, crossing the famous Skye bridge into Kyleakin, the first village on the island.
We'll journey past the Cuillin Hills enroute to Portree where we'll stop for lunch. It's colourful harbour is one of the most recognisable spots of Skye. It is situated on the east side of the island and a wonderful place to enjoy fish and chips and watch the world go by.

Our next stop will be the Fairy Pools, we'll spend approximately 90 minutes here so you can enjoy the walk up this network of bluey, green waterfalls that will tempt you to swim in them.

We will then visit Sligachan where you will be able to enjoy stunning views of the Cuillin Hills and dip your face in the icy waters of the rivers which may or may not offer eternal youth.

Then it's time to wave bye Skye and to journey back to Inverness via Loch Carron, Achnasheen and the Kessock Bridge.
