Snorkeling With Sea Lions - Puerto Madryn

Join us for this one of a kind experience and one of the best things to do in Puerto Madryn: Snorkeling with Sea Lions! This excursion is only done in three places around the world, and Puerto Madryn is one of the best places because of its proximity to a natural sea lion colony. We'll meet at Punta Loma Provincial Nature Reserve in the early morning, located 15 km away from the city. The journey from our office takes about 20 to 25 minutes by boat, crossing a variety of beaches, cliffs, shipwrecks, whales, dolphins, cormorants, terns, and more local wildlife. Upon arrival at the snorkeling site, all guests will receive proper training and safety instructions in snorkeling, rules and behavior within the protected area, and buoyancy (it is important to understand that with the wetsuit, no extra flotation device is needed because you will acquire positive buoyancy and will float on your own). Once inside the area, sea lions will surprise you as they get very close to the boat, looking to find out who will be the first person entering the water to play with them.

Season: August to April The time of departure must be confirmed by the local tour operator as we need to take into account the natural habits of these mammals and tides. For this purpose, the activity is normally done early in the morning, and/or when the tide is finishing up. Current regulations allow visits not more than 1.15hr in the area, which makes the gaming activity with these animals up to 40 to 45 minutes maximum.
