Salzburg Day Trip from Vienna: Salzkammergut + Sound of Music Locations**UNESCO World Heritage**

Relax on our comfortable bus while we drive to Salzburg, en route to which you will be witness to the awesome beauty of the Salzkammergut region with its clear lakes and majestic mountains. Enjoy a photo stop at St. Gilgen, boasting impressive views of Lake Wolfgang. The Sound of Music fans will recognize the landscape from the opening scenes of the film. Once in Salzburg, we'll take guided walk through the historic center, where the most popular tourist attractions are concentrated. One of the famous scenes in The Sound of Music was filmed in the gardens of Mirabell Palace. It was here that Maria sang, together with the children, Do-Re-Mi-Fa-So at the fountain. You will also see the horse pond and the riding school where Baron von Trapp sang the Edelweiss song as a farewell. One of the highlights of our trip to Salzburg is the Getreidegasse, imbued with the cultural and musical heritage of the 18th century. Other tourist attractions on our sightseeing tour include University Church, St. Peter's Abbey, Salzburg Cathedral, and Festival Hall. Later you'll have some free time to explore the city, eat lunch or shop for souvenirs. We'll regroup at 4:00pm for the return trip to Vienna. Estimated arrival time in Vienna is around 8:15pm.
