Mt Field, Mt Wellington & wildlife 1-Day tour

Mt. Field offers a variety of walks in one of Tasmania’s oldest National Parks.Most famousfor RussellFalls & the Tall Trees track we explore the great short walks within this diverse Park which isjust a short 1.5 hour drive from Hobart.
The Three Falls Circuit and Tall Trees Walk form a loop of the lower rainforest section of Mount FieldNational Park.The full circuit walk of 6kms, over reasonably easy terrain covers the parks highlightsofRussellFalls, Horseshoe Falls, Lady Barron Falls & the Tall Trees Track.You have the option and time tocomplete 1 waterfall, 2 waterfalls or the whole circuit depending on your sense of adventure on theday!
We begin with the walk to Russell Falls which is easily Tasmania’s most recognisable waterfall with its 3-tiered drop. It is an easy and enjoyable walk along a beautiful forest track among mixed forest andtemperate rainforest species.This is Tassie’s most photographed waterfall, and we soak up theawesome view before continuing our walk.
Just beyond Russell Falls we climb the stairs to Horseshoe Falls, a majestic waterfall snuggled in theforest, which some regard as even more impressive than Russell Falls!We continue along the ThreeFalls Circuit and enter the section known as the Tall Trees Track.High above us stand the giant SwampGums around 80 metres tall, the world's tallestflowering plant.From here, we have the option tocomplete the full circuit by continuing onto Lady Barron Falls, this is best suited to our fit and activeparticipants.Or return back to our start point for those looking for a more relaxed experience.We enjoy our lunchbreak in one of the many beautiful picnic settings of the National Park.Next up isBonorong Wildlife Sanctuary where you’ll meet all kinds of native wildlife, including Tassie Devils andwallabies. To top off this very Tasmanian day we head to the summit of kunanyi /Mt. Wellington.Standing highabove Hobart at 1271m on a clear day is nothing short of spectacular.The views fromthe top areexpansive.This is a fantastic way to wrap up a day exploring many of Tassie’s most unique andnoteworthy experiences, rainforests, waterfalls, wildlife, and fabulous scenery.
We return to Hobart around 5.30pm.
