Itinerario

A smorgasbord of Scotland's most outstanding characteristics. Learn about the bloody history of Stirling Castle, gaze at the wondrous Glencoe and peer up at Scotland's highest peak. Amidst the cultural and scenic delights we indulge in a feast of your choice. Departing Edinburgh at 08.00am, we head north, passing the imposing ramparts of Stirling Castle and drive through the Trossachs National Park, Rob Roy country. We cross the wilds of Rannoch Moor before stopping at dramatic Glencoe, the scene of the infamous massacre in 1692. Our journey takes us through Fort William and majestic Ben Nevis, Britain's highest peak, before arriving at the banks of Loch Ness. Upon arrival in Fort Augustus you will be seated by the friendly staff at the award-winning Brasserie at the Lovat Loch Ness, and treated to a delicious Taste of Scotland lunch, a celebration of Scotland's finest produce. You will have an opportunity to indulge in the best local specialties such as smoked salmon, haggis, wild game, and whisky. After lunch you can go Nessie hunting on a short walk to the shoreline, or just relax by the Caledonian Canal. On our journey back we travel east along the banks of shimmering Loch Laggan and witness more stunning Highland scenery. The next step of our journey takes us over the Drumochter Pass through the Cairngorms National Park and on to Perthshire, a land of forests, rivers and mountains. We view the spectacular Forth Bridges before arriving back in Edinburgh around 8:00pm.

Overall good. The tour was supposed to have a driver and a tour guide. the tour guide was out sick so the bus driver, Steve, handled both duties. The worst thing about the trip was the air conditioning on the bus was not working. Kudos for Steve, doing the best he could with tour and trying to keep the bus as cool as possible. We were glad to get to see Loch Ness, as well as many other Loch's along the way, and the meal was extraordinary. A warning to others. This a long bus ride with a couple of 2 hour plus stretches with out breaks.
