  • Visas:
  • Citizens of the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, and South Africa as well as citizens of EU countries do not need a visa, just their passport. At the border, you will get a tourist card which is valid for 90 days and extendable.
  • Currency:
  • The currency in Chile is called the peso. Peso bills come in denominations of 1,000, 2,000, 5,000, 10,000 and 20,000.Visitors can exchange money at Santiago’s International Airport but the rates are usually worse than in town.
  • Health:
  • Chile poses very few health risks to visitors. Typical developing country diseases such as malaria and dysentery are not present so no special vaccinations are needed. Neither are there any venomous animals or poisonous plants in the country. However, it’s always good to get a hepatitis and tetanus booster before you visit an unfamiliar part of the world.
  • Electricity:
  • 220V/50Hz and electrical sockets have two openings for tubular pins.
  • Clothing:
  • On the beach: as light, casual and colorful as possible. T-shirt and (long) pants with sports shoes are sufficient for almost all occasions. But in restaurants and public buildings, the Chileans put great emphasis on proper clothing. Shorts are taboo in the city, as well as sandals. In the Andes and Patagonia warm, waterproof clothing should be worn.

Depending on your arrival time, your hotel room may not be available until the afternoon. Most hotels allow check-in between 1:00pm-3:00pm, however some charge a fee for early check-in. Please check at the hotel desk to see if you may store your luggage at the hotel if you wish to explore the city on your own before check-in.
The time we mentioned in the itinerary is for reference only. Please refer to your guide on tour for the actual arrangement. The visiting order and duration might be changed according to actual and practical situation for better service.
