Leaving the great city of London we head west to the standing stone circles at Avebury and the historic village of Lacock in the heart of rural Wiltshire, largely unchanged since the 13th century. The Abbey, located at the heart of the village within its own woodland grounds, is a quirky country house of various architectural styles. Your afternoon leaves you free to explore Bath, its Abbey and Roman Baths, before staying in the capital of the Cotswolds, Cirencester, for the evening. Cirencester was the second largest town in Britain during Roman times!

We will discover more of the Cotswolds scenery and villages. You will see some outstanding countryside with river valleys, water meadows and beech woods, sleepy ancient limestone villages, and historic market places - where time has stood still for over 300 years. Visit will include Bibury, Stow-on-the-Wold, and Broadway Tower, the second highest point in The Cotswolds. Before returning to London, your afternoon leaves you free to explore the ancient University town of Oxford, renowned for over 900 years as a center of academic excellence. Harry Potter fans might want to visit Christ Church, where many scenes from the films have been shot. The grandeur of the Great Hall has formed the basis of Hogwarts Hall!
