Today we will begin our day by visiting the oldest city in Georgia! We will take a look at Savannah and visit the statue of the waving girl. We will see what this amazing city has to offer before we make our way to the sunshine state.

Savannah
Savannah is known as the oldest city in the State of Georgia. It has a unique style of architecture and historical buildings that have attracted millions of visitors each and every year. It holds a true sense of beauty that can be seen from the movie "Forest Gump." Its favorite story involves the life of Florence Martus, who was known by Savannahians and sailors of the sea as "the Waving Girl." Florence Martus took it upon herself to be the unofficial greeter of all ships that entered and left the Port of Savannah.

Florence Martus, also known as "the Waving Girl", took it upon herself to be the unofficial greeter of all ships that entered and left the Port of Savannah, Georgia, between 1887 and 1931. A few years after she began waving at passing sailors, she moved in with her brother, a light keeper, at his small white cottage about five miles up the river from Fort Pulaski. From her rustic home on Elba Island, a tiny piece of land in the Savannah River near the Atlantic Ocean, Martus would wave a handkerchief by day and a lantern by night. According to legend, not a ship was missed in her forty-four years on watch.

 

Today we welcome you to Orlando! We will take you to see the Wheel at ICON Park, which is a huge ferris wheel that overlooks the city of Orlando from high above. The park itself has a lot of other attractions and things to do nearby as well. Following, we will visit the “Alligator Aapital of the World” at Gatorland! This will be a wonderful opportunity to discover the swamp life. Finally, we will take a tour in Disney Springs and you can enjoy shopping!

The Wheel at ICON Park
This is a gigantic Ferris wheel that rises high above the surrounding city of Orlando. It provides amazing views of the area and overlooks the theme parks of Disney World and Universal Studios. 
Gatorland
Discover this unique theme park and nature preserve located in Orlando, FL! It is famously known as the "Alligator Capital of the World." The park contains thousands of the reptiles including a rare leucistic alligator as well. It also offers a petting zoo, observation tower, and amazing shows to see.

Kindly Reminder: On the schedule departing on 12/24, we will go to the Gaylord National Convention Center to take pictures with the Christmas decorations and experience the Christmas spirit. The itinerary will no longer go to Baltimore Pearl Harbor on that day.
