This prestigious private university has a 240-acre main campus in Evanston, Illinois as well as law and medicals schools on 25 acres in Chicago. Northwestern University was founded in 1831 by nine men to serve the Northwest Territory that is presently the states of Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin and some of Minnesota.
