The ornate seven-structure center in Boston's Back Bay neighborhood is the Mother Church and headquarters of the Christian Science Church and originated with one building designed by Franklin I. Welch in 1894. Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist first church is now joined by Mother Church Extension, Christian Science Publishing House, Mary Baker Eddy Library, Reflection Hall, a reflecting pool, a fountain and two other buildings. It has one of the largest pipe organs around the globe. The library features a stained-glass globe with a 1935 world map called the Mapparium.
