Kabah

A Maya archaeological site, Kabah has Maya architecture that dates as far back as the 7th to 11th century. The most popular of these structures is the Palace of Masks which is a facade decorated with hundreds of stone masks. The masks are believed to be dedicated to the rain god Chaac; these masks can also be found in other structures on the site. The site has also many other palaces, pyramid temples and buildings made of stones. Kabah was made a Yucatan state park in 1993.
