Faneuil Hall Marketplace

Wealthy businessman Peter Faneuil built this marketplace and meeting hall in 1742 as a gift to Boston's residents. It played a role in the United States history as being part of 1764 Sugar Act protest, Samuel Adams rally for independence from Great Britain and George Washington celebrated the nation's first birthday there. The site now has a meeting hall, Quincy Marketplace, North Marketplace and South Marketplace as well as many street performers.
