Anne Hathaway's Cottage & Gardens

The quaint and romantic thatched-roof farmhouse with enchanting gardens near Stratford-upon-Avon was where William Shakespeare's wife grew up in Shottery, England and is now a museum. Anne Hathaway's Cottage dates back to before the 15th Century with several updates done throughout the years. It used to be called Newlands Farm. Visitors can see some of the cottage's 12 rooms with pieces of antique period furniture, stroll through the gardens on several marked trails, learn about floral symbolism during the Elizabethan period at the The Say It With Flowers exhibit or take a break in the Cottage Garden Cafe.
