In addition to the Hall of Dinosaurs and the full-scale reproduction of a Torosaurus, the Peabody Museum of Natural history boasts one of the largest and most extensive fossil collections in the United States, and houses the Hiram Bingham Collection of Incan artifacts from Machu Picchu. Ongoing projects include a garden composed entirely of plants from the Cretaceous period (65-144 million years ago), when the Torosaurus roamed the earth. To further stimulate interest in paleontology the museum has teamed up with Connecticut Science Center, Dinosaur State Park, and The Dinosaur Place at Nature’s Art Village to form the Connecticut Dinosaur Trail.
