The architecturally divine Romanesque and Gothic Revival style marvel in Manhattan claims to be the world's largest cathedral and is not yet finished. Cathedral of St. John the Divine has seven chapels that each are designed for a different national style and that region's saints including Spanish, French, Italian, British, German, Eastern Mediterranean and Scandinavian. It was designed in 1888 by George Lewis Heins and Christopher Grant LaFarge and construction began in 1892. The cathedral is the main church of the Episcopal Diocese of New York, has religious services more than 30 times a week and serves people of various faiths.
