Built in a Spanish Barogue and French Renaissance style, the Carondelet Palace has stood in Quito's Independence Square since 1801. It acts as the center of Ecuador's government and home to the president. Highly decorated inside, the palace houses a variety of artwork, including a mural by Oswaldo Guayasamin, and is open to the public for viewing.
