It's an ok tour, can see 2 cities among these 2 countries although it's quite a short times.
Also can know new people from other countries that also joined the tour and making new friends with them.
Overall, beautiful scenery and enjoyable stops at points of interest. However, poorly planned as we spent an entire day of travelling, after the train ride (8 hours total) we got back on the bus for another 4.5 hours to our overnight destin..ation at 10pm. It would have been better to stay at the same hotel for 2 nights and leave the next morning. Too much sitting for one day. Also the choices available for meals were all fast food. (very unhealthy). The guide and driver were great!Read full review
As always, went to places we would like to see which is as advertised. Accomodation are good, not a 5 star motel but for one night stay, it is good enough. Clean and quiet.
We stayed at two different motel on each night. One has free co..ntinental breakfast, the other is not. Wished they find another hotel that offer free continental breakfast. Speaking of the tour driver, Fruit Liu. He did a good job driving for 3 days. He is also the tour guide. Being a driver and a tour guide is not easy. We gave him an extra cash for a job well done. For those, who never tried a bus tour. Riding the tour bus with different people from different country is like riding an international plane. Always bring snacks as it takes 2 hours at least before the next stop for bathroom or food break. Speaking of the company, one of the passenger has a delayed flight and arrived late. The tour driver cannot wait as it has a time limit to pick up others passenger. When the late passenger arrived at the airport the company pick up the passenger on another vehicle and drive her 4 hours to meet our group in the first destination. That is good customer service. Also there was a fire on one of the major highway to go to the next destination. The office told the driver about it and have to reroute which is at least another 100 miles additional mileage.Read full review
100% Exceptional Montreal Experience with Tour Guide Joyce
By: Erika Dimaala | Thu Aug 31, 2023 at 04.45 PM
My 3-day jaunt in Montreal with my Mom was a whirlwind of captivating sights, tantalizing tastes, and enriching cultural experiences. From the historic grandeur of Old Montreal to the artistic treasures of its museums, the city exudes a mag..netic charm that's impossible to resist. I departed with a heart full of fond memories, promising myself to return soon to uncover even more of this captivating Canadian gem.
I don’t usually do this, but this trip was made extra memorable because of our tour guide Joyce.
Her passion for the city's history, culture, and hidden gems truly elevated my entire experience, making it a journey to remember.
From the moment the tour began, Joyce's enthusiasm was infectious. Her vast knowledge of Montreal's rich history was evident as she seamlessly intertwined stories and anecdotes, transporting us back in time to witness the city's evolution. Her attention to detail was impressive, ensuring that every historical site came alive with vivid descriptions and context that added depth to our understanding.
Joyce's multilingual abilities were a true asset, effortlessly switching between English and Chineses (both Mandarin & Cantonese) to accommodate the diverse group of travelers on our tour. Her language skills not only enhanced the tour experience but also reflected Montreal's unique bilingual identity.
What truly set Joyce apart was her genuine warmth and friendliness. She fostered a welcoming atmosphere within the group, encouraging questions and interactions among us. It felt as though we were exploring the city with a knowledgeable friend rather than a traditional tour guide.
Throughout our journey, Joyce introduced us to charming local spots that weren't on the typical tourist radar. Whether it was a quaint café tucked away in a side street or a hidden viewpoint with panoramic city views, Joyce's insider knowledge added a layer of authenticity to our adventure. Her recommendations for local cuisine were spot-on, ensuring that we savored the true flavors of Montreal.
Joyce's ability to adapt the tour to the interests of the group was commendable. She gauged our reactions and tailored the experience accordingly, ensuring that each participant felt engaged and connected. Her passion was evident as she shared her favorite places, adding a personal touch that made the tour even more memorable.
In conclusion, my experience with tour guide Joyce was nothing short of exceptional. Her knowledge, warmth, and personalized approach made this Montreal journey a highlight of my travels. I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking an authentic, insightful, and thoroughly enjoyable exploration of this remarkable city. Thank you, Joyce, for sharing your passion and expertise – you truly made my Montreal adventure unforgettable!Read full review
I went on the Butchart Gardens tour in Victoria and it was a fantastic experience. Our guide René was truly world class, the man is really passionate about what he does and is extremely knowledgeable! He also comes packing with corny jokes.. so be prepared for an earful :) He was even kind enough to drop people off at their hotels who were near the meeting point since we were making good time. If you get him you’re in for a treat. Overall the day was great and the gardens are a must see. The Japanese garden was my favorite. All of your stress and cares go away and it’s just you and nature, soaking in the beauty around you.Read full review
*Good points* Hotels, lunch and dinner places the guide chose to stop, covered everything in the itinerary, price was exactly what they offered, customer service staff of tours4fun are extremely quick and helpful, the driver Anthony worked ..really hard, amazing driver, tried his best to keep everyone engaged & he's a very nice person *What can be improved* So this tour I took had a lot of elderly people and they would definitely need more toilet breaks.. So I felt the duration given at the actual point of interest was very less... For example Crater lake we got 1 hour, Berney falls-45 mins... I would prefer having a tour based on age group & have more time at the actual destination because we travel a lot in this and I would want to spend more time in the destination... I'm not being rude I'm just telling what I felt... Hotels must be chosen which offers breakfast (saves time), cover mount lassen also in this, napa vineyards must be included, we just went to a shop to taste wine & that's it! The minivan wasn't comfortable... Absolutely tight and full and no space or overhead shelf to keep anything The driver must fill the fuel once he drops the guest or before he starts the trip next day (saves time) Guide can give more info about placesRead full review
We enjoyed the gondola, beautiful scenery with only two of us in the cabin. Sunny day and manage to walk to the Shannon Fall and had photos. All other places in this tour were very good too.
The driver picked up time was punctual. We had a wonderful day in Victoria and Butchart Garden. The ferry ride was long but enjoyable (suggesting having dinner on the ferry to save some evening time to explore around in Vancouver).
My family and I had a wonderful trip touring the Canadian Rockies thanks to Ian and Natalia at Discover Canada Tours. The summer premium tour is the perfect balance of time seeing all the Great Lakes, mountains and glaciers. Ian went above ..and beyond to make our group comfortable throughout the journey. He’s an excellent driver, comedian, storyteller and a very patient and helpful problem solver. When my father accidentally forgot his cell phone in Banff he helped suggest how best to get it couriered back to their office in time before we leave. Natalia his assistant was also very lovely and helpful assisting us with all our questions. The Summer premium tour had us stay in the best accomodation- Mike Wiegele, Mount Royal and Sutton Place were all incredibly comfortable and a pleasure to stay. Would not hesitate to recommend DiscoverCanada tours if you are looking for the best way to see all the sights in Canada. Thank you Ian!!Read full review
It’s impossible to choose a single favorite part: the mountains were majestic, the lakes gorgeous and the waterfalls stunningly powerful.
It was interesting to see the burned forests and their regrowth and the glaciers and markers of thei..r retreat. The wine tasting was instructive and enjoyable. Our group of international fellow travelers was friendly and fun.
Japhar, our guide and driver, was outstanding: knowledgeable, attentive, very pleasant; invested in giving us the best experience possible.
Watch the weather forecasts before you go, also recognizing their unpredictability. One must be prepared for rough ground, warm and cold, sun and precipitation.Read full review
