Lincoln Park Zoo

The 49-acre animal park that is free to public originated in 1868 and is one of the oldest zoos in the United States. The site located in the Lincoln Park section of Chicago receives 3.5 million visitors per year and has a Nature Boardwalk that opened in 2010 allowing guests to walk through an ecosystem of local birds, fish, turtles, frog, insects and plants. Lincoln Park Zoo has 200 different species and 1,100-plus mammals, reptiles, amphibians and reptiles as well as thousands of fish and insects.
