Getty Center

Sitting high atop the Santa Monica Mountains, the Getty Center is the definition of beauty with its stunning modernist architecture by Richard Meier with structures covered by 1.2 million square feet of Italian travertine stone and lush garden landscape. The center's museum contains paintings, sculpture, drawings, decorative arts and manuscripts from pre-20th Century Europe as well as American, European and Asian photographs from the 19th and 20th centuries. The 24-acre campus in the Brentwood section of Los Angeles offers spectacular panoramic views of The City of Angels. The 134,000-square-foot Central Garden designed by Robert Irwin has more than 50 different plants. Getty Center and Getty Villa in the Pacific Palisades section of LA make up The J. Paul Getty Museum.
