How To Enjoy Your First Camping Trip
How To Enjoy Your First Camping Trip

For those of you who aren’t familiar with camping, we’ve gathered a list of tips to ensure your first trip into the wild is as comfortable as possible.  The outdoor life may take some getting used to, but once you settle in and get your hands a little dirty, you’ll see that experiencing nature in its most primitive state can be one of the most relaxing and inspiring vacations you can take.

    * For starters, don’t commit to too long of a camping trip unless you feel you’re truly prepared.  While some love to camp for several days at a time, a night or two might just be enough for you.
    * Look into designated campgrounds.  At places such as Yosemite National Park, campers can reside in some of the lodges that are composed of several canvas tents provided by the park.  These areas are generally more comfortable and have running water and bathrooms for those not quite ready for life outdoors.  Some of these lodges even have large cafeterias that serve casual food for campers.

    * While sleeping bags are the usual staple for campers, many companies now make portable air mattresses that come with self-inflating pumps to make set-up a breeze.

    * Bring along a water purifier.  Staying hydrated on your camping trip is imperative especially during the coming summer months.  Drinking water directly from streams or rivers is not particularly sanitary, and the last thing you want are stomach problems while you’re out in the wilderness.  Also, lugging around bottles of water on your trip will quickly become tiresome and inconvenient.  Simply take advantage of the many water purifiers offered today to filter out any harmful bacteria floating throughout the water.

    * Invest in small portable heating devices to cook meals with.  Bring a small pot and some tools to cook with.  Also, think of hearty ingredients when packing for your trip.  Remember, you’ll be hiking a lot and will need the extra carbs and protein.  Some items that are great for camping are: instant oatmeal, sausages, chili, hot dogs, and of course, s’mores.  All of these can also be cooked over a camp fire, so don’t forget to pack some foil as well.  Also, it is vital that you pack away all food that is leftover or discard what you don’t want unless you want a visit from raccoons or other creatures while you sleep.

    * Finally, don’t forget to bring flashlights!  These will be handy if you need to use the restroom or look for something when it’s dark out.

So take a deep breath and go brave the wilderness!  It’s an experience everyone should have at least once in their lives.  Look into booking a 3 day tour to Yosemite National Park or a 5 day tour to Yellowstone for an adventure you won’t forget!

Thanks for your tips, which are helpful for me. I will have a camping trip with some of my friends to the seaside near my hometown. I will paint some seaside paintings during this trip.
