Day 01

Paris - Reims - Luxembourg

Hotel: Melia Luxembourg / Novotel Luxembourg Kirchberg or similar

We'll venture out of Paris and into the rolling countryside of Champagne, famous the world over for its sparkling white wine. A hefty dose of history, tradition and architecture is yours for the taking in Reims, where every king from the 11th century on was formally anointed. Our last stop on this day is Luxembourg, the world's only remaining grand duchy. Highlights include the Adolphe Bridge, Place de la Constitution and the Alzette River Valley. We will stay overnight in Luxembourg or a neighboring city.

Day 02

Luxembourg - Trier - Koblenz - Frankfurt

Hotel: Park Inn by Radisson Frankfurt Airport Hotel / NH Morfelden or similar

Our first stop is historic Trier, Germany's oldest city and the former capital of the Western Roman Empire. Trier is also the hometown of Karl Marx, the father of Communist thought. We'll visit his former residence, which now houses the Karl Marx Haus museum. After a lesson in ideology, we'll make our way to Porta Nigra, the largest and most well-preserved Roman city gate north of the Alps. After an exciting morning in Trier, we'll drive to Koblenz, the town located at the confluence of the Rhine and Mosel Rivers. In the summertime you will have the option of joining a scenic river cruise on the Rhine. We'll make a short stop in Ruedesheim to see the Niederwalddenkmal, a monument built in the late 19th century to commemorate the founding of the German Empire. Then it's off to Frankfurt, the largest financial center in all of Europe. There you will see the Old Opera House (Alte Oper); Roemerberg, the historic heart of Frankfurt; St. Paul's Church, where Germany's first united constitution was drafted by the freely-elected National Assembly; and Die Zeil, Germany's busiest shopping street.

The Rhine boat cruise operated from April to October.

We will first make our way to Bonn, the former capital of West Germany. There we will visit Beethoven House and University of Bonn, then head to Cologne to see the iconic Cologne Cathedral, followed by a stroll along the shopping street Schildergasse. After lunch we will depart for Holland, staying overnight in Amsterdam or a neighboring city.

Day 04

Amsterdam - Zaanse Schans - Amsterdam

Hotel: Hampton by Hilton Amsterdam Airport Schiphol / Holiday Inn Leiden or similar

After breakfast at the hotel, we will tour all the major attractions in Dam Square, including the Royal Palace and the National Monument. You will have the option of hopping onto a glass-topped boat for an hour-long cruise through the storied canals. We will then visit Coster Diamond Factory to see how diamonds are cut and prepared for market, using techniques that have been in use since the 16th century. Our first stop in the afternoon will be Zaanse Schans, the windmill capital of Holland. There we will visit the Wooden Shoe Workshop & Museum and the Cheese Farm to see how clogs and cheese are made. Back at the hotel, you might be interested in an optional tour of Amsterdam's world-famous Red Light District.

Our first stop will be the Atomium monument, a cell-shaped structure of stainless steel spheres and tubes built for the 1958 World's Fair. Then it's on to Grand Place and Town Hall, the crowning achievement of Gothic civil architecture. After a look at Manneken Pis, the famous tinkling cherub, we'll head to the French border and make a beeline for Paris.

Day 06

Paris - Versailles - Paris

Hotel: Campanile paris Est-Bobigny / Ibis Paris Orly Rungis or similar

We'll begin our Paris adventure with a drive along the famous Champs Elysees to the Place de la Concorde, which played a key role in one of darkest chapters of the French Revolution. You'll also get to see the iconic Arc de Triomphe. Next we'll head to L'Hotel National des Invalides, which houses Napoleon's tomb and a number of other monuments relating the military history of France.

Next we'll travel on coach through the Parisian suburbs to the splendid Palace of Versailles, residence of the royal family until the start of the revolution in 1789. We'll return to Paris in the evening. After dinner you may want to avail yourself of the optional cruise along the river Seine.

Amazing tour. Amazing tour guides. 3 in total ALL amazing. Kim, knowledgeable, funny .. knows all the great food places. Melia hotel - wonderful Tim, young, knowledgeable, passionate about his hometown Amsterdam. Fantastic tour. Holiday Inn... -wow, outstanding. Kenzo, knowledgeable, approachable, funny. Paris hotel is a let down. Not friendly, dining room feel like a prison and you have to clean up after yourself. The tour guides and bus drivers are outstanding. Could not get better all 3 of them. Bravo !!! Would do it again in a heartbeat Read full review

    Loved it

What I loved: The accommodation was better than expected, considering the price. The first hotel where we stayed (at Luxembourg) was awesome. It was a 4 star business hotel (Melia Luxembourg). It had comfortable rooms, luxury toilets, sauna..., and even pillow menu. However food was a little bit expensive. It was located in a business zone so finding supermarkets nearby was impossible. The other hotels were not that impressive, but they were still comfortable and nice. All hotels belonged to commercial hotel chains (3 or 4 stars), so they kept a standard of service. The bus was very comfortable, with air condition and a single tv. It had a toilet inside but we were told not to use it, instead we made a few stops to go to the toilet. Being honest it was better that way to avoid awful smells considering the long distances. The breakfast was included and we loved it! In general, it was very good in all hotels. They served juices, coffee, eggs, fruit, bread, cereal, potatoes and depending on the hotel they offered other elaborated meals. For dinner, we managed to buy some food outside and take it into our rooms since food prices and menu were not very attractive. Our tour guide was very nice! He was very helpful at all times. He was always explaining us how the day was going to be. He made quick explanations about the place we were visiting and then we were free to go for a few hours. I recommend this tour for people who would like to visit other parts of europe that are not the most famous at all but still wonderful. If you appreciate the little things this is the right tour for you. It is important to say that there are a few famous places included, like Paris and Amsterdam. What we did not like so much: The price we paid did not cover tickets for museums, nor anything else. You have to travel with some cash since all boats, museums, etc are optional. Your tour guide will ask you for the money inside the bus so he can make all the reservations. There were a few things included (farms in the Netherlands, diamond factory, cathedrals), but they were free for everyone. There is a kind of service "tax" not included in the payment. At the end of your trip (at least in our case) we had to pay 5 euros per day. That was for us 35 euros for the whole week. Another aspect is that sometimes we had too much time for a single place and in others we needed more. For example, we all wanted to spend more time in the farms of the Netherlands (they were lovely) but we could not. And in Frankfurt we had too much. Nevertheless our tour guide was flexible with some places. Read full review

Tours4Fun 06/28/2017 22:17:17

Dear Yogi,

Yes you will need a visa to visit Europe unless you have a US passport.

The tour will end back in Paris, so you will need to arrange your own transportation to Barcelona after the tour ends.

The 2 airports in Paris are Charles De Gaulle (CDG) and Orly (ORL).

Please inform us if you wish to end the tour early by including a note in the reservation request section when placing your order online.

Thank you for your inquiry.

Thank you.
