The trip began with an unexpected challenge. Flying to Salt Lake City with a connection, Moriah missed her connecting flight after a gate change went unnoticed.
"I was asking the gate agent, and he said, 'It already left—at 4:50!'" she recounted. "So I spent the entire night drifting at the airport."
The next morning, she landed in Salt Lake City at 7:30 AM—the tour was scheduled to start at 8:30 AM.
"I wasn't nervous," Moriah said. "Because the tour guide told me not to panic—they'd pick me up at the airport the next morning."
And they did. The tour vehicle was waiting at the airport, and her Yellowstone adventure began without further delay.

Day 1: Jackson Hole to Grand Teton to Yellowstone

"By the time we got to Yellowstone, I was extremely, extremely excited," she said. "I completely entered this primitive, natural environment—it's just so beautiful."
