SAN GABRIEL. — Tours4Fun CEO and co-founder Allen Wang recently sat down with long-time customer Anna at the company's San Gabriel Valley flagship store for the latest episode of "100 Traveler Stories," a series documenting real customer experiences with the travel platform.
From New Immigrant to World Traveler
Anna immigrated to the United States in 2018. Like many new arrivals, she faced language barriers and hesitation about venturing out. Her daughter helped her discover Tours4Fun online, and she signed up for a Universal Studios day trip — her first travel experience in America.
"That was just two or three months after I arrived," Anna recalled. "I wanted to try it out first."
During the pandemic, while many travel companies paused operations, Tours4Fun launched self-operated tours to serve customers who still wanted to travel safely. Anna joined a two-day trip to Joshua Tree National Park and hot springs in December 2021, crossing into 2022 with a New Year's visit to Las Vegas.

Service Details That Build Trust
What stood out to Anna during that pandemic trip was the attention to detail. With hotels lacking hot water kettles and restaurants closed, travel consultant Erin went above and beyond — finding hot water solutions, locating open Chinese restaurants, and ensuring each customer felt cared for.
"She brought her own son along to make the tour happen," Anna said. "I thought: this person is truly dedicated."
The trip included thoughtful touches: slippers, hand sanitizer during COVID, snacks, and individually packaged breakfasts delivered to each room door to avoid cross-contamination.
"That level of care is why I've kept traveling with them," Anna explained.

Eight Years, Multiple Destinations
Since that first trip, Anna has traveled with Tours4Fun to Hawaii, Antarctica, Yellowstone National Park, and Las Vegas multiple times. She's experienced shows, circuses, and magic performances.
"People ask me why I keep choosing Tours4Fun," she said. "It's because of Allen and Erin."
Wang acknowledged that while personalized service from dedicated travel consultants is crucial, the company faces a challenge: ensuring every consultant across their Los Angeles and Chengdu offices (nearly 15-20 consultants) delivers the same level of care.

The Company's Service Philosophy
"As the person steering Tours4Fun, I want every customer — whether in Los Angeles, Chengdu, working day shift or night shift, speaking Chinese or English — to be treated like a VIP," Wang said. "We want to provide professional knowledge and serve with heart."
Tours4Fun has expanded to offer China inbound tours, European packages, and Australia/New Zealand itineraries, partnering with local operators in each destination. Wang emphasized the ongoing challenge: ensuring partner staff and guides match the care level of Tours4Fun's self-operated tours.

Looking Ahead: Canada and Beyond
When asked about her next destination, Anna mentioned Canada — still unexplored — and expressed interest in New Zealand and Australia.
"I hope to continue traveling with you and Tours4Fun," she told Wang.
Before closing, Anna offered practical feedback from a recent cruise she took in China: branded luggage tags or packing bags that identify Tours4Fun customers, preventing mix-ups and building brand recognition.
Wang immediately embraced the suggestion: "That's excellent feedback. We'll keep improving."
