Preguntas frecuentes sobre tours de Tra Taimali Railroad Crossing

How do I reach the Taimali Railroad Crossing from Taitung City?

Take the TRA local train from Taitung Station to Taimali Station, which takes about fifteen minutes. The crossing is a short five-minute walk south of the station exit. Look for the designated pedestrian path alongside the tracks. Do not cross when warning lights flash or bells ring, as trains frequent this line throughout the day.

What is the best time of year to photograph sunflowers at the Taimali crossing?

Visit between late June and early August when the sunflower fields along the tracks are in full bloom. Early morning offers the softest light and fewer crowds. Combine this with the sunrise view over the Pacific Ocean, as Taimali is famous for being one of the first places in Taiwan to see the dawn during summer months.

Is there an entry fee or specific pass required for the Taimali Railroad Crossing?

No entry fee or special rail pass is required to access the pedestrian area near the crossing. You only need a standard TRA train ticket to arrive at Taimali Station. While the Taiwan Rail Pass covers your transport cost, it does not grant exclusive access since the site is a public roadway intersecting the railway tracks.

Are there safety restrictions for drones or tripods at the Taimali crossing?

Flying drones directly over active railway tracks is strictly prohibited by local aviation and rail safety laws. Tripods are permitted on the sidewalk but must not obstruct pedestrian traffic or encroach on the railway right-of-way. Always heed station staff instructions, as fines apply for interfering with train operations or endangering public safety.
