Situated within the northeastern part of Costa Rica, Tortuguero National Park is only accessible by airplane or boat. Eleven different habitats co-exist within the park, making for incredible biological diversity. A very wet and humid place, Tortuguero National Park receives up to 250 inches (6,400 mm) of rain a year, and it contains beaches, lagoons, rainforest, swamps and mangrove forests and supports many threatened species. Although there are trails that are mainly used for watching the nesting turtles, the best way to see most of the park is from a boat.

10-Day Costa Rica Adventure Tour with Tortuguero Extension from San José: Monteverde and Arenal

Booking was easy online. Customer service answered my questions about sea turtle season (July to October). We visited in August and saw a green turtle laying eggs on the beach at night. That moment alone was worth the price. The hotels in La Fortuna and Manuel Antonio were both good. Highly recommend.

Jungle dream trip

It included an amazing variety of sites including jungle, river, ocean, mountains and forests with several small, interesting family lead informational tours throughout the week. It was a dream come true to see so much wildlife.
