Mejores Tours y Viajes de Templo de Philae

Temple of Philae is a jewel of ancient Egyptian architecture, dedicated to the goddess Isis. Originally submerged due to the Aswan Low Dam, it was meticulously relocated to Agilkia Island during the UNESCO Nubia Campaign, preserving its intricate carvings and towering pylons. Visitors arrive by boat, gliding past lotus-lined waters for a dramatic approach. The temple's elegant colonnades, sacred lake, and nighttime sound-and-light show create a magical atmosphere. Nearby, the Aswan Dam and the unfinished obelisk offer complementary glimpses into engineering and artistry across ages, making Philae a serene yet profound highlight of any Nile journey.

Fun in Egypt

We had a blast exploring Egypt with our guide of course . The only misgiving was it was too humid for my liking. We could have chosen a cooler climate next time . Thanks to Omar , Jaffa and Ronda , our guide.

Preguntas frecuentes sobre tours de Temple Of Philae

How do I get to the Temple of Philae from Aswan city center?

Take a short felucca or motorboat ride from the Aswan Corniche to Agilkia Island, where the Temple of Philae is located. Boats depart frequently from designated docks near the Old Cataract Hotel. The journey takes 10–15 minutes. Purchase round-trip tickets in advance to avoid delays.

What is the best time of day to visit the Temple of Philae to avoid crowds?

Visit early in the morning (right after opening at 6:00 AM) or during the evening sound and light show after regular hours. Mornings offer cooler temperatures and fewer tourists. Late afternoon visits allow you to stay for the beautifully lit nighttime display, reducing midday crowds.

Is the Temple of Philae accessible during the Nile’s high water season?

Yes. The temple was relocated to higher ground on Agilkia Island between 1974–1980 as part of the UNESCO Nubia Project, protecting it from flooding caused by the Aswan High Dam. It remains fully accessible year-round regardless of Nile water levels.

Can I combine a visit to Philae Temple with other nearby attractions in one day?

Yes. Pair your visit with the Aswan High Dam and the Unfinished Obelisk for a full cultural tour. These sites are all within 10–15 minutes by boat or car. Hire a licensed guide at the Philae dock to streamline transit and enrich your experience.
