5-Day Canadian Rockies Tour from Calgary·Banff, Jasper, Yoho, Lake Louise & Columbia Icefield

We booked this for a family trip and came away with far more photos than expected. I had been looking forward to Lake Louise; in the end, the scenic road between Banff and Jasper became an unexpected favorite. I would recommend comfortable shoes because several stops involve paths, viewpoints, or uneven ground. We left our evenings simple and usually found an easy meal near the hotel. The hotel changes require organization, so packing cubes turned out to be useful. We came home with several unexpected favorites, not just the famous stops.

This was my first visit to this part of Canada, and the route gave me a useful overview. I had been looking forward to Lake Louise; in the end, Jasper National Park became an unexpected favorite. We kept a small day bag ready on the coach, which made the frequent photo stops much easier. I was glad I brought binoculars and a compact camera rather than relying only on my phone. The hotel changes require organization, so packing cubes turned out to be useful. The trip delivered the scenery we hoped for and a smoother journey than planning alone.

This was my first visit to this part of Canada, and the route gave me a useful overview. Seeing Moraine Lake lived up to expectations, and I was equally glad the itinerary included Lake Louise. Our guide set realistic meeting times and kept the group moving without making the stops feel rushed. My father walks more slowly, and he appreciated knowing the meeting times in advance. It is a good fit for travelers who value an efficient itinerary and plenty of photo stops.

The winter lakes and mountains of Banff are absolutely worth the visit. Rachel advised us to bring slip‑on ice grips, which made walking to the lake for photos much safer. Natural Bridge and Emerald Lake were both unique. Though busy, the photo spots were well spaced, so we still had a great experience.
