The Roman Catholic cemetery in New Orleans is the final resting places of many notable city residents like its first mayor Etienne de Bore, its first African American mayor Ernest "Dutch" Morial, voodoo priestess Marie Laveau and French playboy Bernard de Marigny. All of the St. Louis Cemetery No. 1 graves are above ground vaults built between the 18th and 19th centuries. It is on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
