Sausalito contains more than 400 houseboats and singer Otis Redding wrote his hit "Dock of the Bay" while staying on a Sausalito houseboat in 1967. The city named for the Spanish word for "small willow grove" was first developed by William Richardson in 1838 and was an important site for fishing, transportation and shipbuilding in the past. Sausalito has been featured or referred to in many books, television shows, movies and songs.

Morning Muir Woods Tour from San Francisco with Sausalito and Ferry Ticket

Overnight and long layover in San Francisco. Definitely did not want to spend the day in the city. Was very happy that I could book the afternoon tour of Muir Woods and Sausalito a few hours before it began. They called me straight away to confirm and also helped me on the phone find the pick up spot which was obscure, no street number and no tour signage at the Hilton Hotel, Union Square location. Dustin was our tour guide, and he was very laid back, informative and very caring towards his tourists, as well as friendly and chatty with his guests. It was fantastic to just sit back and relax and not have anything to worry about , since I had just experienced exhausting travel delays. Great experience being with the trees, getting an ice cream in Sausalito and driving around San Francisco. Dustin was very generous with his restaurant recommendations, even offering to text a spreadsheet of them!

Morning Muir Woods Tour from San Francisco

Our driver was wonderful! Very informative on the ride to the Park. Right on time in picking us up. Made sure we knew what to do and how to do it at the Ferry drop off. He actually walked us over and did a step by step with us.
