7-Day Arctic Adventure in Lapland: Santa, Snowshoeing, Ice Fishing & Northern Lights

A Dream Come True – Perfect from Start to Finish!

This was truly a trip of a lifetime! From booking to customer support to the actual adventure, everything was flawless. Booking was easy, and I received all the details in advance. The customer service was amazing—available around the clock, and they even helped me adjust my pick-up time when I missed my flight by a few hours. So grateful for their flexibility! Transportation was seamless. We were always picked up on time, and the buses were comfortable. The guide was fantastic, and I could tell he was really passionate about the Arctic culture and the Northern Lights. He kept us engaged and shared so much interesting info throughout the journey. Accommodation was out of this world—especially the glass igloo! Waking up to see the Northern Lights from your bed is a memory I’ll cherish forever. The lakeside spa hotel was lovely, and I made full use of the sauna and thermal suite. The activities were all well-organized, and I enjoyed every single one—from snowmobiling to ice fishing. The whole itinerary was well-thought-out and offered the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. This tour exceeded all my expectations, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an Arctic adventure!

6-Day Norway Finland Premium Small Group Tour: Tromsø, Kilpisjärvi, Levi, Pyhä and Rovaniemi | Northern Lights | Delicious King Crab Lunch | Santa Claus Village | Cross the Arctic Circle Certificate

Unforgettable!!!

We had a wonderful time on this tour! The small group made it personal, and the destinations were stunning. Tromsø was lovely, and Levi felt like a winter wonderland. While the King Crab lunch was delicious, I wish we had a bit more time to explore Rovaniemi. Overall, an amazing journey through Norway and Finland.

Preguntas frecuentes sobre tours de Santa Claus Village

Which airport serves Santa Claus Village and how far is the transfer?

Rovaniemi Airport (RVN) is the primary gateway, located just eight kilometers north of the city center. The village sits directly adjacent to the airport terminals, making it a five-minute taxi ride or a short bus journey. Scheduled shuttle buses align with most flight arrivals, offering a cost-effective transfer option for visitors heading straight to the Arctic Circle.

What is the best time to visit Santa Claus Village to see the Northern Lights?

The optimal window for viewing the Aurora Borealis runs from late August through early April, when nights are sufficiently dark. Peak visibility often occurs during the equinox months of September and March due to increased solar activity. Visitors should plan stays of at least three nights to maximize chances, as cloud cover can obscure the sky even during high geomagnetic activity periods.

Can I use credit cards at Santa Claus Village or do I need cash?

Credit and debit cards are universally accepted throughout Santa Claus Village, including at souvenir shops, restaurants, and activity centers. Finland operates as a nearly cashless society, so carrying physical Euro notes is unnecessary for daily transactions. However, keeping a small amount of cash is wise for rare instances like rural bus fares or tipping tour guides who may prefer it.

How cold does it get in Santa Claus Village during winter and what should I wear?

Temperatures from December to February frequently drop between -10°C and -30°C, requiring serious thermal protection. Travelers must layer moisture-wicking base garments under insulating wool or fleece, topped with a windproof outer shell. Renting professional-grade thermal suits and boots upon arrival is highly recommended, as standard winter jackets often fail to provide adequate warmth for extended outdoor activities.
