Portmagee received its name in the 18th Century from a smuggler named Captain Theobald Magee. It is often the starting point for visitors to Skellig Michael - a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Site with ruins of a Christian monastery built sometime between the 6th and 8th centuries.

I bought this tour because it was the filming site for the Hogwarts Castle of Harry Potter. The castle is very interesting especially because there are still occupants and there are stories to hear in each room. The tour guide was young and handsome and a great story teller
