Monument Valley features an artistic mix of colorful red sandstone formations up to 1,000 feet tall, vast desert lands and scenic horizons. The majority of it is within the 30,000-acre Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park created in 1958 and is located on the Utah and Arizona border. As a solo traveler, I appreciated having my own hotel room. No sharing with strangers. The group was small (only 6 people). The guide took us to Bryce Canyon on day 2. The hoodoos were stunning at sunrise. The only hiccup was the day 1 hotel key card stopped working. The front desk fixed it in 5 minutes.
