Accepted Answer

Take a taxi from Luxor Airport to Karnak Temple, the journey takes 20 minutes and costs around 100–150 EGP. Prepaid taxi counters are available outside arrivals. Alternatively, hire a private driver or use Uber Luxor for fixed rates. Public buses run less frequently but are cheaper; board near Luxor’s city center.

Accepted Answer

Karnak Temple opens daily from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM (last entry at 4:30 PM). Entry costs 318 EGP for adults; students pay 159 EGP with ID. Hours may extend in peak season. Tickets include access to main temple areas, but the Sound and Light Show requires a separate 380 EGP ticket.

Question 3

Is the Karnak Pass worth it for visiting temples in Luxor?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the Karnak Open Site Ticket (318 EGP) grants same-day access to Karnak and nearby Luxor Museum or Luxor Temple. It’s ideal if combining visits. For multiple sites, consider the Luxor Pass (790 EGP), which covers Karnak, Valley of the Kings, and three other sites over five days.

Question 4

When is the best time of year to visit Karnak Temple to avoid crowds and heat?

Accepted Answer

Visit between October and April for cooler weather (20–28°C) and smaller crowds. Mornings (6–8 AM) are ideal for photography and comfort. Avoid peak summer (May–September) when temperatures exceed 40°C. Major holidays like Eid or Christmas draw larger crowds; book tickets early.
