Situated on the east bank of the Nile in Luxor, Karnak is one of the most vast and awe-inspiring temple complexes in the world, built and expanded over 2,000 years by successive pharaohs. Its monumental pylons, towering columns, and intricate hieroglyphs tell stories of ancient rituals, divine kingship, and celestial worship centered around Amun-Ra. The Great Hypostyle Hall, with its 134 massive columns, remains an architectural marvel, while the sacred lake nearby reflects the temple’s grandeur under the Egyptian sun. Nearby, the Valley of the Kings and Luxor Temple offer complementary glimpses into the spiritual and political heart of New Kingdom Thebes. A visit to Karnak is not just a walk through stone and sand - it’s a journey into the soul of ancient Egypt.

Fun in Egypt

We had a blast exploring Egypt with our guide of course . The only misgiving was it was too humid for my liking. We could have chosen a cooler climate next time . Thanks to Omar , Jaffa and Ronda , our guide.
