Question 1

Which airport is closest to Jingshan Park and how do I get there?

Accepted Answer

Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) and Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX) are the main gateways. From PEK, take the Airport Express to Dongzhimen, then transfer to Metro Line 2 to Gulou Dajie Station. From PKX, use the Daxing Airport Express to Caoqiao and transfer to Line 10, then Line 2. The park entrance is a short walk from Gulou Dajie Station Exit A.

Question 2

When is the best time to visit Jingshan Park to see the peonies in bloom?

Accepted Answer

Visit between late April and early May for the annual Peony Festival. This seasonal event features over 20,000 blooming plants across 200 varieties within the park gardens. Arrive before 9 AM to avoid heavy crowds and secure the best photography light on the hilltop pavilion overlooking the Forbidden City.

Question 3

Do I need a separate ticket to enter Jingshan Park if I already have a Forbidden City pass?

Accepted Answer

Yes, admission requires a separate ticket as Jingshan Park is managed independently from the Forbidden City. Purchase entry via the official WeChat mini-program or at the south gate ticket office using cash or mobile payment. Current pricing is approximately 2 RMB for peak season and 1 RMB for off-peak times, payable only in local currency.

Question 4

Is Jingshan Park accessible for travelers with limited mobility or strollers?

Accepted Answer

The main walking paths are paved, but the summit requires climbing steep stone steps with no elevator or ramp access. Visitors with limited mobility can explore the lower gardens and view the moat but cannot reach the Wanchun Pavilion for the panoramic city view. Strollers must be carried up the stairs, so using a baby carrier is strongly recommended for families.
