Question 1

How do I get to the Geneva Water Fountain from Geneva Cornavin Station?

Accepted Answer

The Geneva Water Fountain (Jet d'Eau) is a 15-minute walk from Geneva Cornavin Station. Head southwest on Rue de Cornavin, continue onto Boulevard James-Fazy, then follow Quai du General-Guisan along Lake Geneva. The fountain is clearly visible in the distance - follow the water spout. Alternatively, take tram line 15 or 17 to “Jardin Anglais” and walk 2 minutes to the lakeshore.

Question 2

Is there an entrance fee to see the Geneva Water Fountain?

Accepted Answer

No, there is no entrance fee to view the Geneva Water Fountain. The Jet d'Eau is a free public landmark located on Lake Geneva and accessible 24/7. The best viewing spots - such as the Jardin Anglais or the lakeshore promenade - are freely accessible year-round.

Question 3

When is the best time of year to see the Geneva Water Fountain operating?

Accepted Answer

The Jet d'Eau operates daily from mid-March to mid-October, typically 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Outside this period, it may shut down during storms or high winds. In winter, operation is not guaranteed. For the strongest spray and optimal visibility, visit on calm, sunny days with low wind.
